History of Kozhikode(Calicut) is majorly dominated as an ancient port settlement. Hence it was decided to a select a historical urban fabric that talks about the rich history of the city it holds. Balakrishnalalji Mandhir is 145 year old temple built by the Gujarati community  migrated during the reign of Zamorin period as they started to explore the maritime trade opportunities with the rest of world. A Haveli Mandhir  bulit according to the traditional spatial organisation as of Nallukettu vedu but with certain structural elements foreign to the land adapts the rituals and beliefs of the community.
