Madras Literary Society,Chennai

The chosen site for the Architectural Conservation studio was the Madras Literary Society,Chennai. The library was part of the then Fort St.George college and has been in function since 1906.  Being constructed in the Colonial style, this library was very significant in the spread of oriental languages and research works during the early 20th century. The major feature of the library is that the structure and the function has not changed since the library was constructed in 1906 (the library functions till date). With effective doumentation and assessment, a design intervention was proposed to enhance the library.
