The concept behind the project is to build a cemetery for the victims of the current pandemic. The project is based on the island of Poveglia south of Venice, which has a long history of being linked to past pandemics. The project proposes to make use of the island by combining the island's older structure with newer additions to create a transformational change. The project is inspired from the works of Bernard Tschumi and Aldo Rossi to bring out the character of RED.
