CRAFT+FUTURE=HYPERLOCAL

Name of the Project: AARAV, The Festival of Indian Crafts
Function: Interactive exhibition, exchange of ideas and content
Built in: 2030
Site: First Floor, Pompidou Center
Location: Paris, France
Idea of Speculative Future: Hyperlocal/Techno-local

Technology is going to play a major role in the future lifestyles and will be consumed as a social product. The real values of local should not get translated into mere symbolic conceptions, but embed rules, techniques, materials, knowledge and narratives. Hyperlocal has two dimensions, Geography and time. Both these dimensions help in creation of diverse and relevant content. The idea is to update and not just conserve or abandon in the search of new knowledge. The Immediate future is all about active participation, media, machine learning and information collection. Hence generating iterations, global exchange of ideas, exposure play an important part in building the collective future. Aarav- The Festival of Indian Crafts envisioned at Pompidou Center is an attempt to reach global audience, showcase and celebrate the idea of crafts and Indian Craftsmanship.
