RAJKOT | DEVELOPMENT THROUGH LIBERALLY INCLINED APPROACH

The Development Plan studio aimed to make us understand the elements of development plans by studying the elements of DP of our residing cities, Delhi (MPD 2021). It helped us in broadening our view in terms of scale and authorities involved. After understanding the basics, we focused on making DP for our selected city “Rajkot” which lies in the Saurashtra region and has a stronghold of the economy through the industrial sector and connectivity with neighboring cities. The process of making DP involved a site visit to Rajkot, meeting authority personals to understand the city better. DP 2036 aims for holistic development through development control tools, with a focus on mobility and connectivity while resolving issues like water scarcity and conserving green spaces through nodal infrastructure and special proposals, followed by phasing and Costing.
