UPAVAN - a park for all

The project proposes a re-designed park in Vasna, Ahmedabad. After weeks of mapping, at different scales, domestic and in neighborhood, analyzing several social as well as spatial patterns, the proposed design aims to be accessible to all genders of the society, especially women by making the public space comfortable, safer and easy to access to them by using several design strategies and interventions. It aims to un-gender public spaces, encourage and allow women to come onto the streets to use it, and thereby un-gendering the streets to a certain extent
