Planning & Designing Of Road Infrastructure In Hilly Reg

This studio focuses on the designing and planning of the road-ways in the hilly region. The studio started with some ice-breaking exercises like mind mapping and fish bone diagram to give us a clear idea about the factors which should be considered during the planning and designing stage before the road construction. After these exercises, we started with softwares like QGIS, Google Earth Pro and context capture. Along with the softwares we got a brief introduction of the IRC Codes and then we started with understanding the types of surveys. Each of us had to propose a route in the Idar area with maximum obligatory points and then we had to find the profile of our route with the help of openroad concept station and had to smoothen the profile and then we had to give its pavement design with the GAD and the drainage and the cross drainage design. After this we had to find the earthwork quantity with MHD with the signages which we would be providing on our stretch, after these exercises we had to bring out the cost of the proposed route. At the end we had to do the parametric analysis and with its help we had to do the SWOT analysis.
