The pain of ambiguous loss faced by people of all groups during war is something that cannot be measured definitely. This memorial seeks to honour these losses, specifically those faced during the invasion of Kuwait during the Gulf War, while zooming out to take a broader look at humanity itself. It asks us to think about what we as a connected race are capable of; from destruction and inflicted suffering to building each other up to rise to unimaginable heights.
