Geotechnical Parameters: Influencing Foundation Systems deals with the study of soil properties and how they affect the design of foundation systems. The studio began with understanding various geotechnical concepts through the form of mindmaps. Next, we got hands-on experience in soil investigation by carrying out filed investigations on-site and laboratory experiments on campus. The field of soil improvement was explored by performing tests on soil samples, with and without the use of additive and then, comparing their respective results. In the end, the acquired knowledge of soil properties and soil behavior was put to use to design foundation systems for a given problem statement.
