Umro Kunjo | Dissolving the notional thresholds

A locale situated between the layers of the river, built interventions and the fortification built in the 15th century; a historical precinct with a past in continuum with the present. The context having a distinct character of communities; the Bhadra community to the south being a concentration of Hindus and the Chand Chali community to the north being a Muslim community. Their functioning within themselves and with each other in the context is the intersection for the design intervention.  The challenge is to break the preconceived notions of both the communities regarding the idea of an open space through interaction.
