With the change in landuse, the natural flow of water disrupted. Moreover the water bodies are under tremendous human pressure due to rapid urbanization. The lakes are in varying degrees of environmental degradation due to various anthropogenic activities; leading to reduction in its size due to encroachments. Also due to excess industrial and residential pollutants the lakes are facing Eutrophication. Regressive planning policies and transportation network corridor methods for this Peri-urban area has added to the resulted degradation of these lakes
