As Jan Gehl illustrates, ‘First we shape the cities – then they shape us.’ For the city of Ahmedabad, Vastrapur is an important area that has been growing economically in the last few decades, the factor being - - Its placement on the map of the city where it acts as an intersection between different areas - The shifting nature of the typology of the built environments from housing to more commercialized sectors. - Establishment of various infrastructure consisting of Hyatt, iim, alpha one mall, and redevelopment of the lake itself. The project aims at revitalizing, rejuvenating, and rethinking the pre-existing situation of the Vastrapur lake.
