Unbuilt Shaping the Built

Shyamal is a commercially developing area with few residential patches within the neighborhood. Due to the private land, the issue of FSI and revenue lead the programmatic decisions . Site context provides an opportunity to integrate accessible public spaces within the neighborhood. Thus, the diverse nature of public spaces like thrust-shaped multifunctional space, the street on the front line, mounds or terrace gardens are collaged on site. The form of these unbuilt spaces shapes the built environment. The central public area with different nature of unbuilt spaces around it in thrust shape acts as an informal performance space that binds other programs like hotel, offices, library and learning centers together. The segregated built-form approach gives the opportunity to design different forms of public spaces that blend into the neighborhood.  The auditorium as a magnet brings people together on site and adds value to the spaces created around them and to the neighborhood.
