Brique- A Construction System

Brique, is a sustainable construction method used to build double curved structures. The studio begins with understanding the possibilities of grasshopper and 3D printing. The movement of ants was decoded to develop the circulation system of the structure, that would be used as a book reading and working space. Iterations of the form were prepared digitally and a form was finalized. The second part involves developing a construction system to build the final form. The intent was to integrate natural materials with modern technologies through, an interlocking brick system to achieve curvature without using mortar.
