Urban Management Foundation Studio

The studio is designed in a way which addresses the functional, integrative and skill building aspects necessary for imparting the students with an overall urban management exposure. It focuses on imparting understanding of the built environment- its vocabulary, public private sectors involved in design, planning and management. The studio will have sessions covering urban concepts and vocabulary, introduction to urban management and services, management principles, and research methods. There will be related simulation exercises and references addressing the contemporary thinking of adaptive reuse of urban spaces, impact of change, conservation and heritage, and introductory concepts of working on projects.
