Dichotomy of TOD and Heritage Preservation in Nizamuddin

The portfolio represents the project covered as part of the third semester of the Master of Urban Planning. The studio aimed to develop core competencies in making a Local Area Plan. The studio was divided into three exercises. The first exercise was to understand the area development model of cities across the globe. The second exercise was to understand development feasibility from the developer’s and government’s perspectives. This particular portfolio will be focusing on the Local Area Plan for the Nizamuddin-Sarai kale Khan area of Delhi. Based on the existing situation analysis, a long-term vision for the area was developed, based on the data collected from various sources. Further, the concept was developed, and detailed proposals were made on the understanding. Along with the implementation and cost of the same.
