Cities are rapidly growing on their fringes where development is uncontrolled, creating pressure on city infrastructure. While urban planning at macro-level may be present in cities, micro-level planning is important. The aim of the studio was to study, analyze and evaluate different models of microlevel planning like TPS, LAPs, etc. across the world and understand their utility in different scenarios.Jaipur, a city where planning at regional, zonal, and sector levels is followed, the implementation of the same faces issues. While Land Pooling mechanism is backed up by the Rajasthan Act since 2016, its practical use is still to be explored.
