Transit Projects: Facilitating Economic Diversification

This semester was undertaken as an exercise to understand the relationship between economic development and transit-oriented planning in Bharuch. This portfolio was an attempt to quantify the benefits (both spatial and economical) that arise from a location abutting transit mega-projects.Bharuch can utilize the HSRC to facilitate the tertiary sector of the city in an attempt to diversify its economy. Once the city station was selected, a conceptual framework was defined. TP Schemes were identified within this framework and their benefits were quantified. This was followed by valuation and benefits to the stakeholders involved.
