HUMANIZING NEIGHBOURHOOD

Today modernism has specifically put a low priority on public space, pedestrianism and the role of city space as a meeting place for urban dwellers. There is a high need to create more public spaces in cities rather than having individual buildings which are just clustered together.Based on the activity study on site OBSERVATION while going to school early in the morning usually everyone is in a rush parents drop off their kids at school and go to work, housewives leave their kids at school and go to get ration... but while coming back there is no rush so the kids living in the neighborhood take longer root along with friends to reach home. tuitions after school hours.  Temple creates an environment/ experience that brings peace in one’s thoughts and spirituality. Rather than keeping a temple, the emotions experienced here can be replicated in the design. And a place can be provided where the same activities are conducted.. THE RELIGIOUS CONNECTION TO NATURE ( importance of water body - stepwell - and its relevance in the design) Vedic referential to garden, SMELL/ FRAGRANCE of temple reviving our old culture People love to visit historical monuments and gardens which are far away, why not bring the same experience to the neighborhood level. Why can’t such places be part of our surroundings? A place where our cultural past and present seem to echo .
