As the city’s population increases, urbanization and industrialization also increases and due to that water demand will also increases. But the per capita water availability is decreasing year by year. So to cater this future demand water source security should be there. As the city depends mostly on external and secondary source of water, there is a possibility to introduce an alternate source for water which will cater the future water demand. So the option for desalination plant is a feasible option for Rajkot city.
