Bapunagar : A Mixed Use Precinct

Bapunagar is located in the eastern part of Ahmedabad, and consists of a residential areas, commercial areas, industrial area and slums. It was developed around 1960. People from different villages of Gujarat migrated here, especially from Saurashtra in 1960 because the demand for mill workers was at a peak. The area got really dense and around that area, residential zones were established. Around 2000, the area got totally dense with residents. There are no major changes found after 2000 in the Bapunagar area.
