Ghatlodiya – A Heterogeneous Residential Cluster

Ghatlodiya is the neighborhood which is located on the western fringe of Ahmedabad. It is a residential cluster with a mix of housing typologies like row houses, semi-detached, bungalows, and apartments. It is well connected to the city-level major arterial roads through one sub-arterial road which divides different blocks of the area. Ghatlodiya was formed in the emergence of people's choice for cheap land prices over distance from work. The migration of people from the core city to Ghatlodiya because of low land prices led to the development of the area. The site lacks accessibility because of the railway over bridges and compound walls of the railway land.
