Nikol, Ahmedabad | Portfolio

Understanding a city is a difficult task as numerous physical, social, economic patterns and layers combine to tell city's story. One begins to appreciate the various direct and indirect inter-linkages and subtleties that make a city functional, and primarily work the framework that binds a community. The report provides insight into Nikol, an eastern suburb of Ahmedabad planned as a predominantly residential area under Town Planning Scheme implemented in 1998. While it currently serves as a residential hub, the area's land availability, dominant age and income group, and other variables suggest that it has great potential for commerce and employment.
