Resembling Odhav as an Industrial area

The transformation of Odhav has a resemblance with the industries as, in early 60’s Odhav was known to be a gamtal which was located outside the city area. however, over the time, the city limits expanded and the small village of Odhav became a peri-urban area of the city. the growth was expanded a little up hill outward area as the topography picturizes the same. In 1962, Gujarat government planned to introduce three industrial corridors under an spv named GIDC (Gujarat Industrial corridor) in Odhav, vatwa and naroda in order to expand the economic growth through industrial sector. The physical development of odhav increased with the extension of TOZ corridor. At this point of time, the industries in Odhav became a magnet point in the area and influenced employment, housing and transport sector resulting in a positive growth for Odhav. The area caters to various type of working-class population engaged in casual work, daily wages, regular employees and government jobs. Through these past 20 years of development has increased population density in odhav, to whom basic infrastructure services were provided. However, GIDC estates were not enjoying the same services, which ultimately incurred private facilitators to provide basic services in Odhav. The portfolio reflects the resemblance of Odhav as an industrial area comparing various parameters and functions with supported data and analysis.
