Thaltej: A Rapidly Developing Suburb

The Hariharashray char rasta precinct located in the Thaltej ward, in the western periphery of Ahmedabad is a rapidly developing area. It is a developing suburb due to public policy implementations like Town Planning Schemes (TPS) and the change in FSI (floor space index). The changes in the precinct are readily apparent in the interval of two decades. The impacts of these changes vary from development of grand bungalows to high rise apartments and commercial zones. The 1sq.km area of Thaltej has been studied using morphological characteristics like its streets, built form and the overall evolution.
