Vasna: A Stagnant Neighbourhood

The portfolio summarises the detailed study of Vasna located in the western part of the city. Different aspects of the precinct such as- its history, development, transition into a residential neighbourhood and the socio-economic life of the people living there are studied in detail to understand their choices. The narrative tries to understand the slow development and demand for residential units in Vasna. How even though its growth has been stagnant, but its public life has prospered in manifolds. There are many parks and open spaces which enhance public life. When it comes to affordability, it is somewhat more affordable than its neighbouring areas. The biggest amenity that Vasna provides to its residents is the atmosphere, which unlike the rest of the city, is quiet and peaceful.
