VASTRAL - THE DEVELOPING URBAN FRINGE

Ahmedabad, a metropolitan city in state of Gujarat is divided by river Sabarmati in eastern and western Ahmedabad, where Vastral lies in the east zone also known as old city which was first known as the Vastral gram. Vastral is newly commercially developed around the S.P. Ring road periphery, which shows that it is a highly developing area also it has developed its physical infrastructure with new developing societies and residences, and small scale industries.The study is conducted on a 1 sq.km area located on the eastern fringe of Ahmedabad city. The primary study is done with the help of GIS map and physical visits which cleared our vision on plans and its area.  The transformation of the land from the agricultural to residential land use, street patterns, land development, and growth is the major focus of the portfolio.
