This portfolio presents key findings of a semester long foundation course - Understanding the City. The studio involved mapping, observing and analyzing several aspects related to built environment as well as studying and inferring the complex relationships between economical and sociological aspects of a locality that shape its physical reality. The study also included understanding the relationship between demand posed by citizen and the supply provided by the governing agencies in the domain of infrastructure services, public transport availability, housing availability etc. This portfolio presents the findings specifically tied to a 1 square kilometer precinct of Vastrapur in Ahmedabad.
