The research project evaluates the performance and cost-effectiveness of Low Impact Development Strategies by implementing them and analyzing cost and performance parameters. Climate change, driven by global warming is disrupting weather patterns throughout the world. The frequency, intensity and duration of climate anomalies have been increasing and will increase further in the coming decade. One of the phenomena being witnessed is flooding especially in urban areas, due to increase in peak rainfall, change in land use and the urban heat island effect. Through this DRP Low Impact Development Strategies as a solution to Urban Flooding and a sustainable replacement to conventional Urban Stormwater Management Systems have been studied. The terminologies associated with the strategies have been studied, the cost and performance of the measures have been studied on the national and international level and their performance has been evaluated for the study area.
