The course will impart basic knowledge of the services viz. Mechanical- Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning (HVAC), Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection Services, essential &/ mandatory for effective performance of a building.
Students will learn engineering terminologies, design principles, systems classification, design basis, load calculations, capacity determination for the services. Standard engineering practices & statutory regulations will be illustrated. We sincerely attempt to keep the course live and interesting by practical teaching methods, tutorials, site visits and close interactions with students by Faculty, Industry Experts, and Teaching Assistants. Students shall have better concept of space requirements, layouts and shall be in a position to visualize a building / facility in totality. Building Information Modelling is a unique feature of this course.
At the end of the course, students will have a clearer view of services to be incorporated in a given project and their implications in terms of form, function, aesthetics, and space.
