Passive Comfort Lab

Passive comfort lab is a course with the objective to study basic concepts of heat transfer and building physics. The course incorporates basic concepts of thermodynamics followed by hands on experiments via a course project (designing and fabrication of 1m3 volume) with which building envelope parameters that affect thermal comfort in a building can be studied. The course also gives us a broad understanding of climate analysis, natural ventilation and other passive design strategies with the use of software like D-view, Climate consultant along with thermal comfort understanding via building simulations through Design Builder.
