PASSIVE COMFORT LAB | MONSOON SEMSETER

The semester provides an in depth theoretical understanding of basic building physics principles ( heat transfer, climatology, solar geometry, natural ventilation, psychometry, mass transfer etc.) and introduction to the measurement, experimentation and analysis of various environment variables  like temperature, relative humidity, air velocity etc. The learnt concepts and principles are applied practically  in a  design problem having 1 cubic meter of space(naturally ventilated) with the hypothesis of achieving thermally comfortable indoor conditions as per standards. Simulation module concludes the entire semester with application of the all the learnings for an air conditioned building office building with set equipment variables
