ALOFT

This project will look into the 'processes' involved in architectural design. The first section, titled 'abstraction,' will consist of developing abstract ideas from the topic. The topics will be carefully chosen in order to provide students with enough imaginative material to begin the process of abstraction. The 'abstraction' stage will conclude with the introduction of the site and program, in which students will propose the architectural form for the program using derived models from the 'abstraction' stage. The second section, titled 'tectonics,' will concentrate on developing structural systems, construction materials, and technology that are appropriate for the architectural form derived at the end of the previous stage
