Symmetry | Spine | Structure

The process started with observing movements in hurdle races such as leg movement. These observations were captured through abstract 2d diagrams. These diagrams were given a new dimension by making a 3d model. The models were revised using various kinds of material to arrive at a form of a double curve. The form was then placed on the fort wall of the fortified city Lakhpat, Kutch, Gujarat. Structurally the double curve was held together by a 20m spanning truss which acted as the structural spine. The two way cantilevered viewing deck is symmetrical dividing up weight equally in both directions.
