Study in Curves

Study in Curve is a school situated in Mangalore. The major climatic concerns of Mangalore are rooftop heat gain and high humidity which can be tackled by preventing rooftop heat gain and maximizing ventilation. The school is tucked in under green roof which prevents rooftop heat gain and the design of openings allows varied possibilities that aid in maintaining wind flow in spaces. It is oriented along the east-west direction which maximizes ventilation. And configured around trees, the campus creates various pockets of spillover spaces for the students. With interconnecting roofs that merge with plinth at places have small mounds as climbing elements. This creates an interesting ambience for students which is equally climatic responsive.
