The Transition of Commons

Jakkur lake was  a primary source of livelihood for many communities that lived on the villages nearby the lake.Post rejuvenation of the lake, it was fenced and the old practices are no longer permitted around the lake edges. The project focuses on 3 zones that deals with the detailed understanding of the zone and the community relations that are prevalent in this region. Mapping exercises were done based on the ground reality and the points of inquiry retrieved from the study to identify the current pressure acting on the precinct and concludes with propositions through policy and design level intervention.
