Fablab and Robotics Workshop: The Innovation Core

The studio process involves developing structural systems through intense modelling processes. These systems are detailed out using timber and steel as the core materials of expression and they are collectively realized in a Fablab which is one among the many projects of the highrise Radical City Youth Centre. The structural grid was developed as a result of collaboration within the other projects through a process of stacking. The Fablab is designed to cater to students and professionals from all fields and explores the concept of collaboration through the articulation of continuous spaces and volumes. It makes use of mezzanine levels that overlook one another, to instigate better interaction and learning between students and professionals. A play of volumes allows one to experience the spanning system from different points of view as well.
