The Co-Active Ensemble: A Collaborative Workspace

With the concept of being spatially open and flexible, this collaborative workspace for architects and designers is a part of a high-rise experiment in Ahmedabad, called the 'City Youth Centre'. The focus is on designing the opening device, staircase details and the spanning system as a medium to derive an architectural language and impart an expression to the building. The co-active hub is divided into four parts- large and small groups on the bottom floor and public and private individual spaces on the top floor. The volumetric relationships and tectonics play a crucial role in the functioning of the workspace.
