The research was spread across four parts, where each part offered valuable insights and a direction for the next part. Part one led to an understanding of the literary references and the international case studies through which a detailed set of parameters were derived. In Part 2, these parameters were taken forward to generate a basic questionnaire used to conduct a pilot survey on two Urban Parks in Ahmedabad. The learnings from these pilot surveys helped in refining the questionnaire and generating a final set of questions. These questions were combined in a questionnaire to conduct the ground survey, which begins Part three of the research. After analyzing children’s responses from the ground survey, a set of inferences were derived. Part four began with establishing a framework from these inferences, which can be used to assess the desirability of play areas in Urban Parks by children of this specific age group.
