Marine Ecology Station, Diu: Francis Kere

Located along the coral limestone cliffs in Diu, the Marine Ecology Centre reflects the attitudes of Francis Kere towards architecture. The porosity of the limestone, is recontextualized  into a mass and void relationship between the units that the program has been broken up into. The units are aggregated through perforated walls, further emphasizing on the porosity, and through the central deck. This allows for a narrative journey through the building as the roofs frame the views towards the sea and the fort nearby.
