Revival of Tradition & Memories of Ravivari Market

'Ravivari Market' on the banks of river Sabarmati has been occupied as a recreational space, play area for children, and washing clothes for a long time. The dynamism of multiple activities at the river bank has now been lost due to the relocation of the market along with the fort wall in 2012, making the market active only on Sunday. To activate the space on weekdays, The core idea is to Revive the cultural heritage of traditional games as an extension of the Ravivari Market, the games which are on the verge of losing their essence and identity in an age of technological advancement.  The design intervention uses shifting planes which allow multiple possibilities for public gathering and creating possibilities for various activities happening in and around the site.
