In the context of a layered urban settlement such as Ahmedabad, the future- facing Academic Village must be a nucleus to the city. This core will act as a catalyst that guides urban growth, social change and holistic development. With a diverse, transient young population there is a need to strengthen the ‘third culture identity’. By unifying fragmented systems of learning and living. the campus becomes socially and environmentally resilient. This Academic village would then become an adaptive threshold between the learner and the world.
With a focus on holistic development, the aim of this project raise dialogues and thoughts through shared commons that act as catalysts for expressions in the form of performances, customs and objects. Through this, it hopes to shape progressive temperaments among users of the academic core.
