Aarohan: Women's Community Center

Located on the banks of the Sabarmati River, beside the Riverfront House; Aarohan is a women’s community center led focused on providing a sustainable environment for the growth and advancement of its users. This purpose of creating a sustainable environment is accomplished by the climate responsive strategies used in the building, for example, use of courtyard, evaporative cooling, introduction of vegetation, jali Walls and planters to reduce solar gains, material usage etc., which reduce the overall energy consumption by a fair amount. To enhance the sustainability of the building a steel frame structure has been used instead of R.C.C.
