Vanvadi : Fields of foraging

The communities of Dahanu, fishermen and the warlis have been settled in the landscape for generations. They have acquired knowledge and skills which have helped them to survive in their native setting being the sea and the forest respectively. In the recent times, due to alternative ways of survival, they have been dissociating themselves from their roots. The project hence aims in acknowledging this change and reinstating the knowledge depositions in the warli community. The knowledge depositions in the acts of foraging, connecting them to the cuisine of wild edible plants which is disappearing from their daily lives.
