Enhancing urban learning and capacity building using digital platforms
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs launched the National Urban Digital Mission(NUDM) in February 2021 with the intention of enabling the electronic delivery of municipal services across the nation by 2026. The NUDM will support the initiatives of the Central Government as well as state and union territories in its effort to transform the landscape of digital governance. This will be accomplished through the use of shared digital infrastructure, which the state beneficiaries can customize as per their regional and local needs. In order to ensure the success of these initiatives, it is imperative that that stakeholders in these initiatives are equipped with the capacities utilize the components of the Mission (such as digital infrastructure), contribute meaningfully from their own experiences of administration, and negotiate the terms of their participation in this nation-building exercise. Towards the accomplishment of such objectives, the need for structural (including institutional) capacity building has become apparent.
