SMART and Circular Waste Management

Currently, Indore city has a Centralized waste management system where all the MSW is treated and processed at Devargudiya trenching ground. Looking at the future growth and waste generation Indore will generate nearly 2000 TPD which is huge in terms of handling present resources. It will create pressure and burden on the centralized system and will compromise service delivery. In the present world, many cities are moving towards a decentralized waste management approach by adopting SMART technologies and the Circular economy model. Hence Indore should start its waste management at the ward level to cater to future demands.
