To deduce the challenges from users' and buyers' points of view in the city of Ahmedabad and to contribute to the body of work by proposing a set of strategies for overcoming the challenges faced by the users and buyers of Green Buildings, that will be studied in the Indian context.

This chapter focuses on the what a Green Building entails and the definition of GB. What it means, where it originated from and its current status in the context of India. Which organisations are involved in this process and their role and inputs. The need for study entails the reason for evaluating the risks that are involved from users point of perspective and to explain the importance of GB in a longer run-on ROI.

The general sentiment among the developer community is that green buildings cost higher than similar conventional buildings, and it is difficult to get positive returns on this extra investment. So, the Aim is to deduce the challenges from buyers' point of view through surveys done in two phases from the green buildings in the city of Ahmedabad. 2.1 Aim of the study 2.2 Objective 2.3 Methodology

Benefits of GB and sustainable approaches, when included, in the bigger scheme of green building rating systems and introduces an integrated design concept for green buildings. And, Group II focuses on the policy and role of GB in the Indian context.
