Charging infrastructure design solution and integrated mobility hubs for autorickshaws in Kochi

Kochi area has more than 16000 auto-rickshaws running on petrol, diesel and CNG. Shifting to electric autos can bring down operational costs and improve profits of auto drivers. Adequate charging solution is imperative for this transition. Home charging may not be feasible due to congested residential areas. Auto-stands in Kochi typically have space for 5-8 autos. Apart from these, there are about 14 mobility hubs envisioned in Kochi CMP.
There is a need for developing charging infrastructure solutions for such small auto-stands (micro hubs) as well as developing integrated land use and area plans for these large mobility hubs (meso-hubs) so as to facilitate electrification of auto-rickshaws in Kochi.
