Govt. of India introduced the Pilot on Formulation of Local Area Plan (LAP) & Town Planning Scheme (TPS) For Selected Cities in India, in 2018. By the end of 2021 limited number of cities have shown progress in terms of surveys and proposals and rest of the remaining cities are yet to show considerable progress. MoHUA has allocated three anchor institutes to guide and handhold the cities. As part of this larger exercise, two sub-topics are identified to support the cities in implementing the projects on ground. One is identification of Potential Value Capture Mechanisms for LAP and the other one is Policy formulation in TPS implementation.
WRI India being one of the anchor institute for LAP and TPS implementation suggested the above two topics for URP students to take up as part Directed Research Project (RDP) in the final semester.
