With the increase in global warming, there is a huge change in the temperature variations across the world. These changes in temperatures affects different cities in different aspects. The project looks at one such city, Yakutsk in Russia- which has extreme cold conditions and temperature variations ranging from -40° C to +30° C. Also Yakutsk is one of the largest cities built on permafrost. And with the climatic changes, the foundation of the city is affected. The project focuses on how to deal with these issues and create a self-reliant neighborhood which is feasible on the given site conditions.
